New Flight Rules Restrict Electronics: Oh boy...

on 12/27/09
After the failed terrorist attack on a US-bound plane from Amsterdam, the TSA has tightened restrictions, yet again.  The new rules are, reportedly, no electronics on a case-by-case basis, cavity searches if deemed necessary, and no getting up the last hour of the flight.  Keep in mind this only applies to international US-bound flights but it's still absurd.  This person didn't even use any technology he tried to light his groin on fire!

So, if you're on an international flight, you can't use any electronics of ANY KIND.  Which means, no iPods, no video games, no Ereaders, nothing to make the flight enjoyable.  Why TSA has decided to do this, I have no idea, maybe checking the watch lists (which this guy was on) or listening to people (the attackers father warned US officials) might be more helpful then stopping people from using iPods.

The most absurd part, is that no one will be able to move from their seats during the last hour of the flight.  I'm sure that'll go well.  A lot of people will not be able to take a bathroom break and then the airline won't be too happy replacing seats.

Well, happy flying! Thanks TSA!
