2010 Olympic Medals Will be Made of Old Circuit Boards

on 10/16/09
Next years Winter Olympic medals in Vancouver will have a lot more computers in them.  We actually mean computers in them, The medals are made of melted down circuit boards.  The medals will also have a different shape then most, a "wavy" shape as opposed to the normal flat medals (pictured below).

These unique (and awesome) medals were designed by the Canadian artists Omer Arbel and Corrine Hunt.  And to add to the uniqueness of them, each is laser etched so that no 2 medals are alike.  It amazes me that these medals are made of melted down electronics, they look like any other medals.  You can see more about these medals on the Vancouver 2010 website
